Management guru Subroto Bagchi-The High Performance Entrepreneur.

Subroto Bagchi is a renown writer and co-founder of MindTree Consulting. He is a pragmatic and prolific writer in this century. It is very important to allow employees in organizations to be spontaneous. Life is designed to be so. But often distrust creeps in when organizations impose spontaneity and it becomes structured. I call spontaneity the white space time,” says Subroto Bagchi. He should know ,he is the author of the best selling The High Performance Entrepreneur and the recently launched Go Kiss The World(both published by penguin). He explicates that spontaneity is like a burning candle-the yellow flame never singes your but the white zone of the flame definitely does. So it is in the work area-when leaders meet the team in non agenda based space or what he calls the white space time, the likelihood of the impact is much more.
Subroto Bagchi who simply calls himself the Gardener was the co –founder and the former COO of MindTree Consulting.Bagchi gave up the position of authority of a position of service and in his present capacity works at the grassroots levels fostering innovation. And while giving a lecture about how his blind mother, who on her death bed told him not to kiss her but to go and kiss the world, it gave him the idea for this new book. It is aimed at the rural populace who comes to the big cities in search of jobs.
Bagchi in the book has constructed his personal story of constant displacement and how despite a blind mother and a father who had manic depressive psychosis, the family values were strongly imbibed by him and his siblings. Bagchi from a lower division clerk in the industries department of the government of Orissa worked his way up and went on to hold multiple posts in Wipro. He then founded MindTree Consulting.
Bagchi stressed the importance of emotional infrastructure in an organization. He points out that the strength of the middle-class Indian family is the emotional support each individual gets likewise it would be of great value to the organization if it can sense the employee’s emotional state and help him in a time of crisis. Using his own experience, Bagchi has crafted an interesting management book where he eggs the layman to go and kiss the world.
Bagchi principle
- Do more by doing less
- Learn some thing completely new
- Be one with you work
- Be your own benchmark
- Study professional practices outside the organisation
- Groom a replacement
- Learn to learn
- Watch your health
- Pray

SYSTEMATIC INVESTMENT PLAN
There is a saying "little drops make a big Ocean". This is what exactly fitting our today's financial situation.Nowadays Earning capacity is increased rapidly. But Money saving attitude is on down the trend. There are many ways to save money. The Recurring deposit, chit, and mutual fund.
The mutual fund is the only product to meet the demand of inflation. The Recurring deposit, and chit returns are static irrespective of market fluctuation.
Always there is ups and downs in the share market. If the market is down we will get more units. If the market is up we will get the less number of units. Let's say Net asset value of mutual fund A is Rs.10.Suppose we are going to invest Rs.1000 per month. The entry load will be 2.25%.The entry load for Rs.1000 is Rs.22.5. The actual investment portion will be Rs.977.5.(Rs1000-22.5) . Number of unis for Rs.977.5 is 97.5.(Investment Portion/NAV=977.5/10).The following is the real time data which will give you real understanding of Mutual fund benefits. Each month unit will be allocated .

How To Be Happy
1. Make up your mind to be happy. Learn to find pleasure in simple things.
2. Make the best of your circumstances. No one has everything, and everyone has something of sorrow intermingled with gladness of life. The trick is to make the laughter outweigh the tears.
3. Don't take yourself too seriously. Don't think that somehow you should be protected from misfortune that befalls other people.
4. You can't please everybody. Don't let criticism worry you.
5. Don't let your neighbor set your standards. Be yourself.
6. Do the things you enjoy doing but stay out of debt.
7. Never borrow trouble. Imaginary things are harder to bear than real ones.
8. Since hate poisons the soul, do not cherish jealousy, enmity, grudges. Avoid people who make you unhappy.
9. Have many interests. If you can't travel, read about new places.
10. Don't hold post-mortems. Don't spend your time brooding over sorrows or mistakes. Don't be one who never gets over things.
11. Do what you can for those less fortunate than yourself.
12. Keep busy at something. A busy person never has time to be unhappy. ~- Robert Louis Stevenson( Courtesy: http://members.tripod.com/~blueladycat/how2bhappy.html )
Be A Leader
1.Begin with praise and honest appreciation.
2.Call attention to people's mistakes indirectly.
3.Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person.
4.Ask questions instead of giving direct orders.
5.Let the other person save face.
6.Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be "hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise."
7.Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to.
8.Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct.
9.Make the other person happy about doing the thing you suggest.

OutSourcing to India
(Ravi Nagaprasad, Hyderabad)
The Americans invented this word, and they have been using it quite frequently. As you know, many multinationals, in order to save money, are outsourcing their work to cities in India. When an American says that he has been `Bangalored', what he means is that he has lost his job because his company has decided to move its operations to a city in India — not necessarily Bangalore.
* According to the article, another 10,000 people will be Bangalored by the end of the year.
It is not often that the name of a city is used as a verb. As a proud Hyderbadi, you may wonder why the Americans chose the city of Bangalore. You must remember that during the early stages of outsourcing, most of the companies were moving to this city — Bangalore was then perceived as the Silicon Valley of India. The Americans' fear of losing jobs to the city of Bangalore gave rise to another word — `Bangalorephobia'.

Story Doesn't End Here (Must Read).......................
Once upon a time a tortoise and a hare had an argument about who was faster .
They agreed on a route he thought he'd sit under He sat under
|
emerging as the undisputed champ.
The hare woke up
and realized that he'd lost the race.
The moral- "Slow and steady wins the race. This is the version of the
story that we've all grown up with."
THE STORY DOESN'T END HERE
there are few more interesting
things.....it continues as follows......
The hare was disappointed at losing the race and he did some
soul-searching.
He realized that he'd lost the race only because he had been overconfident,
careless and lax.
If he had not taken things for granted, there's no way the tortoise could have beaten him.
So he challenged the tortoise to another race.
The tortoise agreed. This time, the hare went all out and ran without
stopping from start to finish. He won by several miles.
The moral - " Fast and consistent will always beat the slow and steady.
It's good to be slow and steady; but it's better to be fast and reliable."
THE STORY DOESN'T END HERE
The tortoise did some thinking this time, and realized that there's no
way it can beat the hare in a race the way it was currently formatted.
It thought for a while, and then challenged the hare to another race, but
on a slightly different route. The hare agreed. They started off. In keeping
with his self-made commitment to be consistently fast, the hare took off and
ran at top speed until he came to a broad river. The finishing line was a
couple of kilometres on the other side of the river.
The hare sat there
wondering what to do.
In the meantime the tortoise trundled along, got into the river, swam to the opposite bank, continued walking and finished the race.
The moral - "First identify your core competency and then change the
playing field to suit your core competency."
THE STORY STILL HASN'T ENDED
The hare and the tortoise, by this time, had become pretty good friends
and they did some thinking together.
Both realized that the last race could
have been run much better So they decided to do the last race again,
but to
run as a team this time.
They started off, and this time the hare carried the tortoise till the riverbank. There, the tortoise took over and swam
across with the hare on his back. On the opposite bank, the hare again
carried the tortoise and they reached the finishing line together.
They both felt a
greater sense of satisfaction than they'd felt earlier.
The moral - "It's good to be individually brilliant and to have strong
core competencies; but unless you're able to work in a team and harness each
other's core competencies, you'll always perform below par because
there will always be situations at which you'll do poorly and someone else
does well.
Teamwork is mainly about situational leadership, letting the person
with the relevant core competency for a situation take leadership.
Note that neither the hare nor the tortoise gave up after failures. The
hare decided to work harder and put in more effort after his failure. The
tortoise changed his strategy because he was already working as hard as
he could."
In life, when faced with failure,
sometimes it is appropriate to work
harder and put in more effort.
Sometimes it is appropriate to change strategy and try something different.
And sometimes it is appropriate to do both.
The hare and the tortoise also learn t another vital lesson. When we stop competing
against a rival and instead start competing against the
situation, we perform far better.
To sum up- the story of the hare and tortoise has much to say:
Chief among them are that fast and consistent will always beat slow and
steady;work to your competencies; pooling resources and working as a team will always beat
individual performers; never give up when faced with
failure; & finally, compete against the situation - not against a rival.

Best Book for Creativity
Tip: Ask questions that solicit multiple answers
Tip: Try some “soft thinking”. Ask “what if?”, “why not?”, "what rules can we break?”, “what assumptions can we drop?”, “how about we look at this backwards?”
Tip: Have rule-inspecting and rule-discarding sessions within your organisation.
Tip: Try evaluating a new idea, not on its practical merits, but as a provocative stepping stone to come up with other ideas, some of which might eventually work.
Tip: Introduce humour or wackiness into a meeting to stimulate the flow of ideas. Make your workplace a fun place to be.
Tip: Develop the outlook that wherever you go and whoever you talk to, there are ideas waiting to be discovered.
Tip: If you are giving someone a problem that has the potential to be solved in a creative way, try, at least initially, to pose it in an ambiguous way, so as not to restrict their imagination.
Tip: If you are in a rut about a problem, try freeing up your thinking by taking the contrary position or disagreeing with the common sense view.
Tip: If you aren’t making many errors, ask yourself, “How many opportunities am I missing by not being more aggressive?”
Tip: A major factor differentiating creative people from the rest is that they believe their small ideas could lead to something bigger and build on these ideas. Do it.Von Oech's website can be found at http://www.creativethink.com

I have a question on my mind. Will i be worthy to be ownership of the article.Absolutlely it is not.Suddenly one word came to my mind that telling me your are a plagiarist.I balanced myself and reply back to my mind why not?
I use one teaching of christ that is "seek you will find"...
I got the perfect meaning of plagiarism. The idea that copying another person?s ideas or expression (the form of words in which the idea is encapsulated), without the person?s authorization and without explicit acknowledgment of the copying, is reprehensible is, in general, clearly false.
But as in the case of myself i copied from others as well as i will acknowledge it.So i feel i am not at all to be plagiarist.I am not a good writer to post an article. But i used to post whatever impressed upon my mind and whatever is useful to others.
I read that article "100 ways to live 100 years" from http://www.livelongto100years.com/longlife.html.I acknowledged that website in my previous posting also.
The power of blogging as a matter of browsing from some where else.If some thing is good, please post on it.I believe "service to humanity is the best work of life..".
